Tomato Cage

Established in 2003 and based in St. Louis, Missouri, Veggie Cage has developed and manufactured the innovative tomato cage support for gardens and horticultural markets. The tomato cage was created with the focus on designing products to make gardening even more rewarding. Veggie Cage, led by Michel Paille and Robert Sanazaro, has enjoyed huge success among enthusiastic home gardeners and professional growers with its innovative tomato cage supports.

The tomato cage, obtainable from Veggie Cage, was initially designed and fabricated by the company's founders for use in the Paille family's extensive vegetable gardens. They were trying to find a simple, less time consuming method of growing tomatoes without the tedious task of tying and retying tomato plants to stakes without having to rely on the cumbersome and unattractive metal cages. Devising the tomato cage as a simple green spiral, they found it delivered outstanding support for very robust tomato plants as well as other vegetables and flowers. The Veggie Cage product becomes almost invisible in the foliage of mature plants which is a distinct advantage Co-founder, Robert Sanazaro, has found that the invisibility of the tomato cage of Veggie Cage has become an important feature for consumers as the trend in vegetable gardening has evolved from being merely functional to becoming aesthetically attractive. Some home gardeners enjoy mixing vegetables and flowers in the same bed using the tomato cage supports as certain flowers have insect repellant properties. The tomato cage of Veggie Cage is great for its ease of use as well as the minimal space requirement for off-season storage. Veggie Cage has flourished and expanded while retaining its family business emphasis on friendly, courteous and responsive customer service. Veggie Cage continues to offer the USA made tomato cage product with the goal of enhancing the enjoyment of vegetable and flower growing the easiest way.

Designed specifically for growing tomatoes, the tomato cage measures 9" across, is made of galvanized spring steel and is extremely sturdy. As the plant grows the gardener should simply move up the top ring. The tomato cage affordably purchased from Veggie Cage can be expected to last for several seasons as the tomato cage was designed to withstand all weather changes and there is nothing on the item to rust or rot it in rain. The Veggie Cage tomato cage comes all in one piece and needs no assembly. The gardener has only to snap off the threaded thumb screw and screw it into the clamp in order to hold the tomato cage to the stake. The tomato cage measures roughly 4" at the top and gets progressively wider down to its 13" bottom and the strong but flexible Veggie Cage product is designed to encase the main stems while supporting the branches. Weighing only ľ lb the tomato cage is designed to stretch up to 7 feet and even the taller varieties of tomato plants will be contained. The Veggie Cage design allows for even distribution of the plant's weight and tendrils can be encouraged to continue to grow within the coils with once a week attention.
